BI Aurora Layoffs – 11/5/2025

1 minute

As many of you are now aware, layoffs are currently underway at the Aurora office, effective as of November 5, 2025. The exact number of affected employees is not yet known, but the company has indicated that this is a continuation of the layoffs that occurred at the end of October 2024, compounded by the loss of additional accounts at the Aurora office.

From what we’ve been informed, the Case Management and DHS sides appear to be largely unaffected. This seems to primarily impact the former Monitoring department. Management has shared with the union that many of the laid-off employees will be—or already have been—offered positions in Case Management and/or DHS to help ease the transition.

We recognize this is an incredibly difficult and uncertain time for everyone involved, especially those directly affected and their families. Please know that union leadership is committed to supporting our teams through this process with as much transparency and compassion as possible. If you’re impacted, reach out to your manager or HR for details on next steps, severance, or available resources.

In the meantime, it’s more important than ever that we all remain focused on upholding the high standards of our remaining accounts and work toward obtaining and maintaining any new accounts that come our way. Our jobs and our pay are largely based on the accounts we hold. We lost two major Monitoring accounts that triggered last year’s layoffs, and we have lost the last Monitoring account that has triggered this year’s layoffs.
